Mouthguards
It is strongly recommended that ALL players wear mouthguards for games and training. Although basketball is a non-contact sport, it is possible for players to get knocked in the mouth. Replacing teeth is much more costly than the price of a mouthguard.
Fill-ins
A player can only fill-in if they are registered with CBBC. Players not registered, or from other clubs, will result in a forfeit result for the game.
The player must be from a lower division or age bracket (eg. If U12 Div 3 needs a player, a player from U12 Div 4 or U10’s can play).
They are needed to make up 6 players for the team needing the fill-in . Effectively every player is allowed to play their own game plus also fill-in to a higher division or age group each week. A filled-in team may have a maximum of six players only.
A player can fill-in for a team a maximum of four games in the season.
Once you have arranged the player(s), it is a simple matter of assigning them to the team on PlayHQ. Do not just use the absent players name!
When adding fill-ins, please remember to add them to your team on the tablet before the game. To do so you will need to know the correct spelling of their name and date of birth. You can also ask for help from the front desk coordinator at Bendat or Lords if you are not sure how to do so.
If the player who is filling-in has the same singlet number as another player they are filling-in for, please contact the Property Manager on [email protected]
Foreits
Forfeits should be avoided as much as possible. Teams can play with four players or use fill-ins from a lower grade CBBC team to avoid a forfeit. No show or late notice forfeits, where not enough time is given to contact the opposing team, will incur a loss of points (U14 & above).
Notifications of forfeits to be emailed to [email protected] and [email protected] . Please advise the following: Team Name/Age Group & Division (your division can easily be found on the PlayHQ Fixtures)/Time of Game/Court No.
All teams have byes throughout the season. Specific bye dates may be requested prior to fixtures being published, but cannot be guaranteed.
